WELL SCREENING
Where MANTIS fits.
And where it doesn’t.
We screen every well before we quote it, and we turn some down.
MANTIS fits
- Jointed-pipe scopes within 75 t pull and 2⅜–7⅝″ tubulars
- Sites where space, crane capacity or POB make a rig costly or impractical
- P&A, cementing, workovers, fishing and wireline support
Fits under conditions
- Loads close to 75 t: confirmed by engineering check
- Offshore decks: lifting, load path and layout per project
- Scopes that need specialist tooling or local partners
Use a rig
- Pulls or tubulars beyond the current unit’s range
- Scopes that need full drilling-rig capability
- Wells where the screening shows a rig is the better option
MANTIS / CURRENT UNIT
One unit.
Onshore and offshore.
A remotely controlled hydraulic workover unit for well intervention and P&A, designed for sites where space, lifting capacity and personnel are constrained.
- Pulling capacity
- 75 t
- At 310 bar hydraulic system pressure
- Tubulars
- 2⅜–7⅝″
- Selected slips, connections and tooling
- Unit weight
- 7 t
- MANTIS unit · Ø 2.5 m
- MANTIS crew
- 2–3
- Per active shift · supporting services additional
- Standard well control. MANTIS works above conventional well-control equipment selected for the well programme. Crews are IWCF well-control trained.
- Rig-up in 3–12 hours, depending on the site. Self-supported wireline rig-ups.
Figures describe the MANTIS unit. The supporting spread, well-control stack and services are defined per well programme.

LBEG approval 320 relates to the documented 75 t unit. SodM reviewed the HSE case and issued a no-further-questions letter; this is not product or rig approval.

RED ZONE MANAGEMENT
Control from a distance.
Control hydraulic jacking, power tongs and pipe handling from the cabin, reducing personnel exposure beside the unit during powered movements.
Red zone boundaries and access for hands-on tasks are defined in the operating plan.

DELIVERY
Fit-for-purpose delivery.
Local partners.
Ter Bron supplies MANTIS and the operating expertise. Local partners provide the complementary services your programme needs: cementing, fluids, wireline, lifting and site support.
Total personnel on board (POB), supporting services and responsibilities are agreed around the well programme before mobilisation.

MOBILISATION
One truck.
No separate mobile crane.
The truck-mounted crane unloads and positions MANTIS for suitable onshore setups, combining transport and unit placement in one vehicle.
Fewer separate crane lifts can reduce exposure to weather-dependent lifting windows. Ground conditions, reach and access determine the onshore setup; offshore weather limits, lifting and deck arrangements remain project-specific.
